Creepy Incidents That Happened On Movie Sets Of Modern Horror Movies

There are basically two types of people when it comes to watching horror movies: those who get scared and close their eyes and occasionally cower under the seat, and those who just watch the horrors calmly while eating popcorn. But whether you’re a brave popcorn chewing horror lover, or a scaredy-cat who watched the movie through their fingers, you can’t deny that there are a whole bunch of incidents that happen on horror movie sets that just seem cursed. Here are a few that happened in recent years.

1. Annabelle (2014)

It’s a horror movie about a creepy doll that’s being used by a satanic cult to make the life of a couple miserable. Honestly, it feels like creepy dolls are enough to make people’s skin crawl, but the filming of this movie also did not go without some creepy incidents on set. For example, an actor got a pretty bad head injury in the hallway where he was meant to film his death scene. And even creepier, some of the windows that haven’t been cleaned in years would get weird three-finger claw marks on them, just like in the movie.

2. Ghost of Goodnight Lane (2014)

This is meta, a horror movie about a crew filming a horror movie that gets attacked by a vengeful ghost. And to top it off, the cast of Ghost of Goodnight Lane also has some pretty inexplicable things happen on set. Throughout the shoot their lights would flicker, equipment would stop working, they would hear some weird voices and apparently one of the actors claimed to be assaulted by a ghost.

3. Insidious (2010)

A movie about a haunted house, a child that becomes comatose and essentially taken over by some pretty evil spirits, doesn’t that just sound great? The actors on the set of this particular horror movie said that they often felt sick, heavy, and generally uncomfortable on set. On top of that, a buzzer would go off constantly in one of the rooms, when no one was there.

4. The Innkeepers (2011)

Haunted hotels sound like fun to some people, but the cast of The Innkeepers would probably disagree. While filming in a haunted hotel and staying there, they would all have some pretty creepy yet vague dreams and they’d feel ill at ease a lot of the time. . The lead actress even felt like there was a ghost sharing her room.

5. The Amityville Horror (2005)

When you agree to work on a movie about a mass murder that happened in a house in the middle of the night you’re probably already on edge. Now imagine that before that project even starts a dead body washes us ashore pretty close to the location you’re going to be filming at. Yeah, that happened. That made people involved including Ryan Reynolds pretty uneasy, but they still went ahead with the project. And then many members of the cast and crew started waking up in the middle of the night, exactly at 3:15, which is pretty weird, cause that’s the time the murder happens in the movie.

6. The Possession (2012)

It always starts with an antique item, doesn’t it? And all of a sudden your daughter is possessed by some evil spirit. The Possession is sure to put you off yard sales for a while. The filming of this movie also had quite a few weird things happen. Lights flickered, weird cold drafts would happen out of the blue, and possibly creepiest of all is that the storage facility where the “vintage box” from the movie was kept burned to the ground. Everyone got so freaked out they chose not to replace it.

7. The Conjuring (2013)

The Conjuring is a pretty terrifying horror film. But here’s what happened to the people who were working on it. The director of the movie said that he would feel pretty weird when working late on this project and one time his dog started barking at something that he couldn’t even see in the room. But that’s nothing compared to the fact that the hotel the cast and crew were staying at literally caught on fire and they all had to be evacuated.

8. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)

Exorcism-type movies are common, but having multiple cast and crew members of the show complaining about the same weird radio incident isn’t. It started with the lead actress complaining that the radio in her room would randomly turn on and play Alive by Pearl Jam. And then it started happening to other people who worked on the film. It got so creepy that they all agreed to just get rid of radios for the duration of the project.

9. Return to Babylon (2013)

This is a black and white silent movie, so what could possibly happen on set? Well, actors said that they felt pretty weird, some even felt like they were touched by some weird entities, and others said they felt “watched”. The whole film is kind of cursed. Apparently, actors’ faces would blur and morph on film for inexplicable reasons, actors would appear to have webbed fingers, and strange shadows appeared on film that looked like skeletons or demons. It’s a pretty creepy affair.
