Lizzo needs no introduction. She is iconic to the point where if you don’t know her, it’s your loss. She’s an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, and performer. Her songs are so catchy that you just can’t help but spend days listening to them over and over, and then a few more weeks have it playing in your head as you do your household chores.
She is also a body-positive icon who is all about self-love and self-improvement. Lizzo is all about flaunting her curves while also trying her best to make sure she keeps her body healthy. So she decided to eat healthy and start working out and that led to weight loss.
Now people are questioning whether this was a result of a diet or weight loss surgery. Well, Lizzo documented her process on social media. She posted what she ate on her TikTok, she posted videos of her training with a trainer on Instagram. Your girl did it all the old-school way. And it’s not like her goal was to become a whole different person. It was all about being good to yourself, eating the food that nourishes your body, and working out to make the body strong.
What did Lizzo eat? What is her diet?
Lizzo is vegan and if you follow her on TikTok you’ll know that for breakfast she loves to have all sorts of smoothies. She likes combining fruits and green veggies in her breakfast smoothies, which taste delicious and are a great source of vitamins first thing in the morning. She did go on a ten-day green smoothie cleanse once and got a bunch of criticism for it. But as she later explained, it wasn’t for a dramatic weight loss, as many expected. It was just a way to detox after eating too much junk food and too much spicy food that messed up her stomach.
For lunch, Lizzo likes her salads. There’s even a Lizzo salad that’s been recreated on TikTok and she duetted the video. But that’s not the only salad she makes. She’s pretty open to experimenting and just improvising in her kitchen. So sometimes she just makes salads from what she has in the fridge. But there’s a general rule of starting with greens like spinach, adding some vegan protein (like vegan bacon or vegan chicken nuggets), add any veggies you like (or have in your fridge at that moment), some herbs and spices, perhaps a sprinkle of vegan cheese and a dressing of your choosing.
When it comes to snacks Lizzo loves her trail mix, keto cups, protein bars, and fruits, and one of her favorite snacks is hummus.
When Lizzo cooks dinner she basically cooks it from scratch. This girl knows how to make stews, soups, pasta, etc. She’s happy to try new things and it’s honestly awesome how she can try something for the first time and it turns out great, like a creamy pot pie. She doesn’t always have time to cook, but when she does and feels like filming it, those are some delicious vegan recipes she comes up with.
When it comes to Lizzo’s diet, it’s all about enjoying your food, having good ingredients, and keeping it vegan. She doesn’t count calories. And she definitely indulges in some not-so-healthy snacks or meals from time to time. But hey, nobody’s perfect and that’s the point. We can’t just eat perfectly all the time. Lizzo has shared that she works out with a personal trainer. We’ve seen her do jump rope, yoga, barre, hula-hoop, and treadmill workouts. Plus, she clearly loves dancing. It seems like Lizzo loves mixing it up and does all sorts of workouts that seem fun to her. She likes giving herself challenges too, like attempting to do the splits. She recently even tried a TikTok trend of strutting on a treadmill for 30 minutes to a playlist of her own songs.
