12 Celebs Who Don’t Believe In Monogamy

In recent years, polyamory has been gaining more traction as a legit form of relationships — especially in Hollywood. After all, when you’re surrounded by so many gorgeous and interesting people, of course you wouldn’t want to be tied down to one person. Plus, it’s a way to spice up a marriage and make sure you never stay bored with just one partner. Here are some A-list celebs that don’t believe in monogamy, and think that multiple relationships are more fulfilling.

1. Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert

Teyana once famously said that after a couple gets married, there’s “no limits” and her song “3Way”, about a hot and steamy threesome, was actually inspired by real life experiences with hubby Iman Shumpert. She also wants to break the stigma that it’s always men who initiate or ask for certain sexual experiences.

2. Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith

Besides that weird entanglement moment with August Alsina, Jada and Will have always been pretty open about being, well, open. Hollywood has always swirled around rumors about these two, and Jada was famously quoted saying “You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.” She also thinks it’s ok for your man to be attracted to another woman.

3. Bella Thorne

Actress Bella Thorne is definitely not camera-shy about revealing her inner life. She’s openly had simultaneous relationships with Tana Mongeau, Dereck Smith, and rapper Mod Sun. She’s not a big fan of labels, but does publicly promote non-monogamous visibility in a great way.

4. Shailene Woodley

In 2020, Shailene told the world about her open relationships in a piece with the New York Times. She said, “ I think we’re in a day and age where there should be no rules except for the ones designed by two people in a partnership — or three people, whatever floats your boat!” However, she still thinks all parties are responsible to be honest, trust their partners, and communicate.

5. Scarlett Johansson

This actress has said on marriage that she find it to be romantic and beautiful, but that it’s not natural for people to be monogamous, although she respects those who live that lifestyle. In an interview with Vanity Fair when she was promoting the film Match Point, she made these comments, and said that she would only marry someone if she considered having kids with them.

6. Nico Tortorella

While you might recognize this hottie from his tattoo artist role as Josh on Younger, Nico actually has been in a “queer polyamorous” relationship for over 14 years. In an essay for them, the couple wrote that over the past decade, their relationship developed into polyamory “without ever really trying” and said it made them realize how unbreakable they are as a couple.

7. Ethan Hawke

When you’re as good-looking as Ethan Hawke, you don’t really have a need to be monogamous. The actor who was once married to Uma Thurman (and apparently cheated on her) said that he doesn’t think being unfaithful is wrong, and that the human race was never meant to be a monogamous species.

8. Cameron Diaz

This beauty and ex actress who is married to Benji Madden hints that finding a husband doesn’t mean finding happiness, necessarily. When she did an interview with InStyle magazine, she said that humans can’t naturally be monogamous, and that we live in a society where people have basic instincts similar to animals.

9. Sienna Miller

Once engaged to Jude Law, Sienna Miller has some very strong opinions on monogamy that you may not have known about. In a magazine interview with Rolling Stone, she called monogamy an “overrated virtue” and just like Diaz, compared humans to animals.

10. Dolly Parton

Dolly has actually been married to Carl Dean for nearly 60 years, but no man can control her naturally flirtatious and charismatic personality. She has said that throughout the last half-century, she’s been with multiple lovers, but no one comes close to Carl Dean. She’s even come forward saying that men are her weakness, regardless of their appearance, and Carl always knows she’ll come back home.

11. Brody Jenner

Caitlyn Jenner’s son opened up about threesomes with his longtime (now ex) bae Kaitlynn Carter and said they “weren’t opposed” to having someone join them in the bedroom. He also commented that people are more receptive than you’d think, regarding opening up the relationship, and when he brought it up with Kaitlynn, she said she didn’t mind at all. Obviously, he was excited.

12. Akon

This musician wants Americans to discover the beauty of polygamy, which is common around the world. He told TMZ that there would be a lot less “domestic disputes” if multiple partners were accepted in mainstream society.
