Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers have been an item for quite some time now. According to the duo, they’ve been engaged for a while! The news came on February 6, 2021, a while after rumors about the two of them were circulating in July 2020. This news came right after it was reported that the celeb couple was in a long-distance relationship.

We don’t know much regarding the unlikely union of this spiritual nature queen and a football jock, but the couple is very private, and we know that they’re anything but traditional. On Jimmy Fallon on February 22, Shailene spoke on the situation in a rare even, saying, “For us, it’s not new news, you know. So, it’s kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it, and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.”

Before meeting bae, Shailene had actually never attended a football game, and said she never thought she’d be engaged to “somebody who throws balls.” But she admits that even her dog fell in love with Aaron. She hilariously commented on her “Tonight Show” appearance, “If you don’t date this dude, I will disown you as my mother, because the three feet that I run with you when you throw a ball is nothing compared to the marathon I’m able to run with him.’

Furthermore, she mentioned that since they met during a time when stadiums were close, she still hasn’t gone to a football game. She also didn’t grow up with sports, and the journey of learning about football has been constant, according to the actress.

In an interview with “Shape” magazine, she says that both of them jumped into a relationship fast, getting the “sticky bits” out of the way in their relationship in the early stages. They immediately moved it due to the fact that it was a pandemic, and “you can’t just get on a plane and go back and forth on weekends.” Still, the actress admits that before being with Aaron, she was holed up in full quarantine mode and was by herself with her dog for 3 months, forcing the actress to “be still and quiet.”

A few months later, when Shailene was in Montreal for a project she has coming out, she found herself with quarantine boo, 37-year-old Aaron Rodgers. More one-on-one time than usual let them get to know each other more privately, but even if there wasn’t a worldwide pandemic Shailene feels that them meeting is destiny, and would happen “in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together.”

Woodley describes her man as a nerdy, “Jeopardy!” loving guy, even though he just happens to be a very famous athlete. They do have many mutual friends, and apparently, Aaron has always crushed on her from a distance. It all started with a few Zoom dates and some platonic hangouts before things heated up between the two of them.

Despite already being fiancees, Shailene and Aaron met during the pandemic. However, they have a low-key duo, which explains why we haven’t heard too much about them. In the past, Shailene dated rugby player Ben Volavola, but the relationship didn’t work out because she was at an age where she couldn’t “fully commit” and “didn’t fully love myself” as she told Bustle. Aaron was previously linked to race car bombshell Danica Patrick, who first got together in 2018 and broke up two years later.

On stage, at the NFL Honors awards, he thanked his “fiancee” in an acceptance speech. Although the trajectory of their relationship sounds like a whirlwind romance, but during the lockdown, they both learned more about themselves and each other, speeding up the dating process more than usual.

While things did move fast between the stars, this time was a blessing and disguise for Shailene, Aaron, and many other celebrities with busy schedules who otherwise can’t have a normal life when it comes to dating.

Although much that goes on between these two is private and we don’t have any details concerning the wedding, we can assume that it’s going to be an intimate affair based on the unconventional way that this couple lives their lives. And based on what we know from a recent IG Live, Aaron has already expressed an interest in starting a family with his 29-year-old fiancee, although not right away, sharing, “I’m in that age group where a lot of my close friends from high school and college are fathers now and have families of their own. It’s maybe not in the immediate future but definitely something that I really look forward to.”
