With Rihanna’s iconic pregnancy style taking over magazines, the word on the street is that the Barbadian singer and designer has changed maternity style forever. On January 31, she shared that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend and rapper A$AP Rocky. Unlike many celebs who try to hide their baby bumps, Rihanna is ultra bump-forward. One of the things that RiRi has stated that she loves about maternity style is not having to worry about covering up her tummy. Here are Rihanna’s best pregnancy style looks so far.
1. Early 2000s Nostalgia
This outfit screams early to mid-2000s, from the trucker hat to the low-rise jeans. An animal-skin style shirt showed off her curves while a long, mixed print fur jacket covered everything up. As always, she rocks the low-rise boyfriend jeans with ease. Snakeskin heels wrapped around her jeans and a few gold chains put the entire look together.
2. Ravishing in red
Rihanna and bae showed up at the Savage X Fenty store in the Culver City mall in Los Angeles right before Valentine’s Day of 2022. A bright red leather robe turned her into a seductive modern-day Red Riding Hood, complete with strappy red stilettos. The look was dramatic!
3. Glam in sequins
At the Fenty Beauty Universe Event, the happy couple was full of smiles, and we couldn’t take our eyes off this iconic sequin cut-out look. Lime green sequins adorn her shirt, which has a skin-baring halter back closure, while the two-tone pants were filled with charcoal and purple sequins — they also featured no shortage of cutouts.
4. Superbowl stylin’
With some ripped and oversized gray jeans, RiRi served up Grace Jones vibe as she rooted for the Rams. Repping her team with a sheer blue button-down complete with a collar, she wore it with a matching blue headscarf and oversized bomber jacket that broke up all the blues with a golden fur trim.
5. The Dior show
We are fully obsessed with this look, which transforms the designer into a goddess. Consisting of gauzy, sheer lingerie and diamonds, Rihanna wore this all-black look with a leather trench coat over it. Accessorized with lavish diamonds and patent leather knee-high boots, this is a proud display of confidence and body positivity that we hope inspired other ladies.
6. The Gucci show at Milan Fashion Week
As she sat front row at the Gucci show, Rihanna turned heads in a purple faux-fur jacket and low-rise leather pants featuring a Chinese dragon climbing up one of the legs. Fittingly, the pants were from Gucci’s pre-fall 2022 collection. She also wore a metal headpiece from the brand with some serious Cleopatra vibes. Finally, a long-sleeve latex and lace crop top finish off the look. It’s one of her most eclectic looks, but what Rihanna’s look isn’t eclectic?
7. The announcement
While there have been plenty of elevated maternity looks since the announcement, we’ll never forget this hot pink statement look, which reportedly cost $29,000. Given the giant bedazzled cross and necklaces covering her tummy in this look, we’re not surprised. She rocked a long, pink quilted Chanel jacket with only the top button done up, along with a double-strand Chanel belt which held up light denim boyfriend jeans.
8. The Off White show
The usually colorful Rihanna opted for a neutral look at the Off-White fall 2022 show, while her partner opted for a similarly understated all-black look. We’re totally here for RiRi normalizing leather mini dresses as a pregnancy look! She paired to peach-toned dress with a shearling camel coat by Diesel that grazed the floor and looks incredibly comfortable.
9. Old school glamour
Rihanna served up Audrey Hepburn meets Marilyn Monroe glamour with this super elegant look, combining a floor-grazing pencil skirt made from a glittery mesh, paired with a wrap-around long-sleeved bralette. The custom look was designed by Coperni and proved that diamonds really are a girl’s best friend. Even her baby got dressed up — the bump is adorned with a silver body chain, which matched her Damon hoop earrings.
10. Cozy in shearling
We can’t think of a cozier outfit than this one pulled from Y/Project’s fall 2022 collection and designed by Glenn Martens. While most moms-to-be are at home in their old sweats and hoodies, Ri pulled out all the stops in this dramatic ensemble which consisted of a Sherpa-lined suede coat, a ruffled hem hoodie, and ultra-slouchy thigh-high leather boots that stole the show.
