We’re all familiar with Daniel Craig through his A-list acting in films like “Knives Out,” “Casino Royale,” and, of course, the famous James Bond franchise, but not much is known about the star’s personal life. He likes his privacy and tends to stay out of the spotlight along with his family.
We do know that he’s married to another actor, Rachel Weisz and that they have a daughter, whom they try to shield from the public eye. However, Craig has a daughter from a previous marriage that the public is unaware of. Ella Loudon is his oldest daughter, and today, she’s all grown up.
Ella comes from artistic parents
We know that Ella’s dad is a famous actor, but did you know that her mother Fiona “Harley” Loudon is a music and visual artist as well as an arts therapist and psychotherapist? Ella’s parents divorced a few years after Ella was born in Scotland. Her mother helped her write songs as a form of emotional release when she was upset or stressed.
Ella started acting as a kid
This isn’t so surprising given that Ella Loudon’s father is a world-famous actor. However, Ella admitted that she wished she wasn’t in her father’s shadow. Her passion began in a school play. When she was only 11 years old, she starred in the musical “Bugsy Malone” at her school.
She has dyslexia
A major part of learning how to act is memorizing and reading your lines, and due to Ella’s learning disability, that’s not always easy. Ella’s dyslexia makes it difficult to read and process words—the disability affects approximately 20% of people in the world. Speaking to the Berkshire Eagle, she said it’s “not an excuse, but it’s something I struggle with.”
She dropped out of college
Ella was born and raised in the UK and went to the US at age 17 to attend a private boarding school in Massachusetts. After graduating, she attended NYU to study acting but dropped out after just a year due to her struggles with depression, which continue today. She said she was “completely blinded” to the support system around her and felt alone, but her family encouraged her to get help.
Inspired by her mother, she became an artist.
Ella often completes visual art, which she shares on her Facebook page, Ella Loudon Art. Her style is distinct and often consists of black-and-white pieces with complex, detailed patterns. Drawing has always been an outlet for Ella, and it allows her to process the trauma in her life. In 2017, her art was featured in NYC and Los Angeles gallery shows.
She appears with her father on the red carpet
Ella is quite striking, and in adulthood, she’s shown up on the red carpet a few times with her father. She accompanied her dad to the “No Time to Die” James Bond premiere in 2021, wearing a chic black pantsuit paired with a white blouse and a smokey eye. She also appeared with him at the red carpet premiere of Netflix’s movie “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.”
She has expressed her dislike for fame
Although some might be quick to call Ella out for nepotism, she’s been outspoken about her lack of desire for fame and has hence stuck to working on short films, theater, and indie projects that warrant less attention. She told the Berkshire Eagle that her dream is to have a home with chickens and a partner with whom she has kids. She’s more focused on being a respected actress than a famous one.
She models
Ella is a multi-talented woman, but she’s also gorgeous and photogenic with her startling blue eyes and killer bone structure. Ella has signed with the global modeling agency Select Model Management, and she’s also modeled for bridal shoots along with fashion and beauty projects. Her photos have even graced the pages of Vogue.
In 2023, she began to release music
Ella already has skills in modeling and art, but she is also a musician. It’s obvious that this woman is a triple threat with no shortage of creative outlets. She started learning to play guitar a few years ago, starting out by practicing songs by Nirvana. In 2023, she wrote a song called “Dream,” which was released at the same time as a film she starred in.
She’s still acting
Although she juggles many different projects, you’ll still see Ella Loudon on the big screen. Her resume includes short films and shows like “The Things We Left Unsaid” and “Maneater,” and she’s also signed with a talent agency called Independent Talent. As of October 2024, she was cast as a notable lead in a play called “Tina Packer’s Women of Will,” which explores Shakespeare’s female characters. The production is running at the West End Theater.
