Pregnant Rihanna Performs Live on the Super Bowl Stage

How long has it been since the last time we saw Rihanna perform live? Those few years felt like an eternity to her devoted fans, but last night, we finally got to witness RiRi during the Super Bowl halftime show. However, the barrage of Rihanna’s universally-loved hits was nothing compared to the singer’s silent but exciting announcement of her second pregnancy.

34-year-old RiRi has put her songwriting career on hold after releasing the album “Anti” in January 2016 and becoming somewhat of a fashion mogul. Two years ago, in 2021, her estimated net worth was a whopping $1.7 billion, making her the richest celeb/singer in the world, followed closely by Jay-Z ($1.6 billion) and Andrew Lloyd Webber ($1.3 billion). Being the crafty businesswoman she is, Rihanna even managed to incorporate product placement into her performance on stage when she paused for a moment to reapply Fenty Beauty powder.

Let’s talk about that epic entrance for a second! Rihanna flew over the screaming crowd on one of those cool platforms descending from above and joined the dancers on the set. It took RiRi thirteen minutes to perform what must be the best “Rihanna medley” ever made. At the speed of one song per minute, she has proven that despite being away from performing live since 2018’s Grammy Awards ceremony, she’s still got it. The rapid-fire medley included hits like Pour It Up from the 2012 Unapologetic LP, Rude Boy from the Rated R album, and Where Have You Been from Talk That Talk. Strangely enough, the setlist did not contain her amazing song Lift Me Up from Wakanda Forever, which got RiRi nominated for her first Academy Award.

And what better banger to end the show with than the iconic hit Diamonds? But the song was only partially the reason why the crowd went wild. When RiRi unzipped her oversized crimson onesie, she showed off her tummy without saying a single word about it. Moments later, the stage flew up to the sky and the show was over. As it turned out, that last part with the belly meant exaclty what we all thought it ment — RiRi is pregnant again and she just announced it to the entire world without dropping a word.

No matter how much we all want to see Rihanna release a new album, it will not happen anytime soon. While some news outlets were speculating that RiRi would definitely announce or even drop a fresh new album during her Super Bowl performance, we now know that the “big announcement” was not about the music at all.

Despite Rihanna and the famous rapper A$AP Rocky not being married, they already have a son, and now there’s a second baby on the way. Just as it was with her first pregnancy, don’t expect RiRi to flood her Instagram with daily updates. The less info the fans know, the better the kids’ lives will be.
