Legendary Action Star: Where Is Lorenzo Lamas Today?

Born on January 20, 1958, in sunny Santa Monica, California, Lorenzo Lamas got his perfect genes and acting talent from his father, Fernando Lamas, who was also a famous actor. Some might remember Lorenzo as Lance Cumson from the ’80s hit soap “Falcon Crest,” or maybe you’ve seen him kicking butt in numerous action flicks and TV shows. With his chisseled jaw and undeniable charm, Lamas has been stealing hearts and lighting up screens for decades. So, if you’re talking Hollywood hunks, Lorenzo Lamas is definitely in the mix.

Lorenzo spent his early years in the scenic Pacific Palisades, a coastal neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. However, when he turned 13, he migrated across the country to the bustling city of New York due to his parents getting divorced. It was a significant shift for him, as he had to adapt to a new environment. Being interested in MMA, Lorenzo decided to try his mettle at all sorts of martial arts, including Taekwondo, Karate, Aikido, ju-jitsu, and more.

Lorenzo’s journey into the world of entertainment began in the late ’70s when he made his acting debut in the TV series “Switch.” However, it was his role as the silent jock in the iconic 1987 film “Grease” that marked his first notable appearance alongside John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

In 1981, Lamas landed his breakout role as Lance Cumson in the long-running soap opera “Falcon Crest.” This role launched Lorenzo straight into the spotlight, earning him widespread recognition and adoration from viewers. As the irresponsible grandson of Angela Channing, Lamas portrayed his character with charisma and charm, eventually becoming a household name. Why else would they keep him in “Falcon Crest” for 228 whole episodes?

After spending an eternity in the soap world, Lamas became an action star. In 1989, he portrayed Jack ‘Soldier’ Kelly in the classic machismo film “Snake Eater,” and then reprised the role in two sequels. Throughout the ’90s, Lamas continued to appear in B-movies such as “Final Impact,” “Swordsman,” and “Bad Blood,” among others.

In addition to his feature-length adventures, Lamas still did a lot of TV work, starring as the iconic Reno Raines in the crime drama series “Renegade,” which kept him occupied for four seasons. His portrayal of the rugged and resourceful protagonist garnered him a dedicated fanbase and further solidified his status as an action star. From 1998 to 1999, Lamas took on the role of Rio Arnett in the TV action-adventure series “Air America.” In the early 2000s, he got into the shoes of an undying warrior, Rafe Cain, in the TV fantasy action-drama series “The Immortal,” which was a really fun watch. After that, he starred in other shows and movies, but none of them were as good.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Lamas’s personal life has been the subject of public interest over the years. With five divorces behind him, Lamas has experienced his fair share of heartbreaks and romantic affairs. Despite the challenges of maintaining relationships in the spotlight, Lamas has remained resilient, finding love and companionship in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations.

In April 2020, Lamas started a new chapter in his personal life, entering into a relationship with Kenna Scott. Their engagement in February 2021 signaled a new beginning for the couple, with plans for a huge wedding ceremony in Napa Valley set for May 2022. However, it took them much longer to get everything perfect, and in October 2023, the couple finally tied the knot.
