Nicki Minaj Beefs — A History of All of her Celebrity Feuds

Nicki Minaj is the reigning queen of hip hop, and that’s not a shocker, since her sole goal is to come out on top. Although she remains #1, she’s earned quite a few enemies in her time — so many that we could compile a pretty hefty list of all the celebrity feuds she has under her build. That list only seems to be growing as time goes on — here are all the public beefs that Ms. Minaj has gotten herself into over the years.

1. Cardi B

It all started when Nicki liked an IG comment that was making fun of Cardi. At a New York Fashion Week party hosted by the iconic Harper’s Bazaar, the public was shocked to see filmed footage of Cardi and Minaj getting into a physical altercation. In the video, Cardi is seen screaming and swearing out Nicki, with a painful-looking knot on her forehead (courtesy of Rah Ali) and bare feet!

2. Taylor Swift

A Twitter battle between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj began when Minaj spoke out about not getting nominated for video of the year at the 2015 VMAs. She wrote the controversial message that if a music video celebrated “women with very slim bodies” then it would automatically earn a nomination. Swift then accused Nicki of pitting women against each other.

3. Miley Cyrus

When Cyrus talked smack on Nicki in a NYT article, dubbing the rapper impolite and mean when it came to her comments on “Anaconda” not earning a name. Cyrus said Nicki Minaj’s comments on a lack of nomination were selfish and aggressive. Nicki addressed this by confronting her on-stage after winning best hip-hop video.

4. Mariah Carey

These two fought it out on the 12th season of American Idol. They were both judges on the show, and while they seemed to be cool at first, they got into several altercations. Apparently, Carey though Nicki was bad at singing, and hence a poor judge for the competition. They eventually had an on-screen yelling match that ended in Nicki walking off-stage — both women left the show soon after.

5. Lil’ Kim

When the two hip-hop queens got into it, no one saw it coming. People have always drawn comparisons between the two, and while Minaj attempted to credit her NY predecessor, Lil’ Kim wasn’t having it. She told every radio station, concert, and other opportunity to talk about how Minaj was a copycat of her. Minaj responded by lacing her Pink Friday album with disses on Lil’ Kim, which of course, the rapper followed up with Black Friday.

6. Remy Ma

When it comes to diss tracks on Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma just might take the cake. In 2007, Nicki offended Remy by supposedly talking poorly on her in “Dirty Money” on the Playtime is Over mixtape. Remy’s response, a 7-minute-long song called “ShETHER” that calls out Nicki. To this day, Nicki tried to show her superiority through record sales, but you can’t deny the raw talent that Nicki has.

7. Travis Scott

Nicki Minaj beefs aren’t just reserved for the ladies. After her Queen album was officially ranked #2 on the billboard 200, Nicki let it be known that she felt Travis Scott used shady tactics to push his album sales, including using his baby mama and daughter as leverage. Obviously, Travis didn’t take the news well after being dragged, but he continued to ignore Minaj and her army of Barbz.

8. A controversial husband

Nicki Minaj’s betrothed, Kenneth Petty, has come under fire for indiscretions in his past, and now his wife has been dragged into his legal batters do. The case relates to a 1994 incident where a 16-year-old named Jennifer Hough reported that Petty sexually assaulted her at knife point. Petty was recently arrested for not registering as a sex offender in California, which he is legally bound to do. Now, he faces up to 10 years in prison, and Nicki is part of this lengthy lawsuit.

9. Demi Lovato

The beef between Demi and Nicki went down at the Met Gala, which was Demi’s “first and probably last” time attending the A-lister event. She found the event overall awkward and cliquey, telling Billboard that one celebrity was a “complete b***h and miserable to be around”. Then, there was that pic posted by Minaj, Lovato wasn’t tagged, and as a response, she posted a picture where Minaj was clearly throwing shade at her.
