Meghan Markle’s Most Daring Looks of 2021

Now that Meghan Markle isn’t technically a royal anymore, she can experiment with her fashion and expression of her individuality more in the form of style. Her post-royal style is an homage to her previous sense of style when she was an actress, but we also see new and sophisticated touches that show how her style has grown and evolved.  After all, one must get pretty bored of conservative fascinators, pantyhose, and hats.

Here are all of Meghan’s most daring looks of 2021 since she’s stepped down from her role, starting from that infamous Oprah interview right up until the end of the year. Highlights include loose silhouettes, pointy stilettos that slay, and iconic winter coats.

1. 2021 Salute To Freedom Gala in New York City

This breathtaking red gown by Carolina Herrera featured a daring neckline and dramatic thigh-high slit. It’s safe to say that red is definitely Meghan’s color, and it looked dreamy with her sleek up-do. This was her first red carpet outing ever since having her baby daughter in June.

2. The Oprah Interview

For this anticipated filming, Markle wore a $4,700 silk Armani grown with a belt detailing and a floral print. Although she wore the dress, which reminded many of her style while in Buckingham Palace, the relaxed wisps of hair around her face indicated a more laidback Cali lifestyle. Her accessory choice was a brave one — a Cartier tennis bracelet that belonged to Princess Di, and what many interpreted as a statement of solidarity.

3. The Time Magazine cover

Here, Meg looks more like herself, wearing a smart and sophisticated white jumpsuit with a front pleat, and wavy blown out hair worn down, serving some serious va-va-voom. Hello! Magazine called it an “LA power look”, and the pinky ring she’s wearing is a design created with the idea of women supporting women in mind.

4. An NYC visit in September 2021

On September 25, 2021, Markle wears an outfit that reminds us more of her ensembles from her acting days. A chic, mid-thigh grazing Valentino dress cost $4,500 and is paired with a black Dior handbag, matching her long peacoat and pumps.

5. Melbas in NYC

While in NYC, Harry was wearing his usual garb, but Meghan Markle experimented with fashion in new and exciting ways, like with this monochromatic, loose burgundy suit. While she normally wears tighter dresses and shirts, this was a boss babe move that we love.

6. The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Meghan looked very professional in an Oscar De La Renta white blouse with unique cut-out detailing on the sleeves, and simple black trousers and pumps.

7. The Ellen DeGeneres Show Part 1

For a pre-recorded segment where she and producers pranked viewers, she wore a more classic Meg look, in a hot pink matching midi skirt and shirt. A long white coat helped to break up the colorful outfit underneath.

8. Visit to the United Nations

Here, Meg experiments with monochromatic neutral colors once more in this camel-toned matching shirt and pant look, paired with a darker camel wool coat on top. The coat cost $5,590 and is by Max Mara — the blouse and trousers are by the same brand.

9.  Headed to the One World Observatory to meet Bill De Blasio

Here, she wore a smart black turtleneck and trousers with a navy Armani coat and matching navy suede heels by one of Markle’s favorite brands, Altazurra. This is one of her more low-key looks, and also one of her best, finished off with a pair of diamond Cartier earrings.

10. Wokestock at Central Park

Wearing an embellished white shift dress with a shorter than usual hemline, Meghan and her hubby spoke to a crowd in Central Park about how to end the COVID-19 pandemic. The dress, made of silk and virgin woo, is covered in floral accents and beaded embroidery. It’s called the “San Gallo” and it’s a mini dress by Valentino.
