7 Little-Known Facts About Barron Trump

We learned lots about ex-POTUS Donald Trump when he was in office, and the Trump name is recognizable worldwide now. Still, we have very limited information about his children besides Ivanka — especially Barron. Here are more intimate details about Donald Trump’s youngest child.

1. He was diagnosed with Covid-19

At just 14 years old, Barron was recently confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus. Melania also tested positive, and she shared a personal essay online about her experience with the virus, which she only experienced mild symptoms from. However, we didn’t learn about Barron’s symptoms. Initially, he took a test that came up negative, but when tested a second time, it came up positive.

2. His mom wants to keep him out of the spotlight

We’re not sure how well this has worked, especially since the kid literally hovers over his dad at 6’4” to 6’6”. Melania is absolute on wanting to keep her son’s life private — it makes sense, given the spotlight that Ivanka was put under due to her dad. Melia said she wants to keep his childhood “as normal as possible” but after being forever linked to this infamous ex-POTUS, we’re not sure how normal his life is going to be.

3. He was the first son to live in the White House in 50 years

This sounds impossible, but it’s true! Out of every past POTUS, they’ve all had daughters, including Barack Obama and George W. Bush. In the past 50 years, presidents only had daughters or kids that were fully grown and therefore not living in the White House with mom and dad. The last one was John F. Kennedy Jr. who moved in with the Kennedys more than five decades ago.

4. He’s smarter than you think

Not too many kids can say they’re bilingual in both English and Slovenian. We have Melania to thanks for that. He’s also making history by attending St. Andrew’s Episcopal School rather than Sidwell Friends, where the children of presidents have been going for the past 35 years. He doesn’t have too much of a social media presence, but one weird thing that people noticed he used to post a lot of Putin pictures, which is unusual for a POTUS’s son.

5. He’s a sneakerhead

It appears that Barron enjoys hobbies other than “sports.” He’s made many fashion statements in the form of sneakers, and as reported by Footwear News, is a fan of New Balance’s 574 Core sneakers, which he’s been photographed wearing on multiple occasions. In 2020, he wore them in black. A few weeks early, he was seen wearing a similar model with reflective detailing, and in March 2019, we saw him rocking a camel-colored version of the 574s.

6. He’s gotten some crazy gifts over time

When Barron was born, other A-list celebrities that would never be associated with The Don today gave the baby boy magnificent gifts. Barbara Walters sent him a huge stuffed dog, Ellen DeGeneres got him a gold stroller with its own chandelier, and Dennis Basso even sent the baby a luxurious white mink coverlet. Back in 2019, Barron also received a horse from Mongolia, which he named Victory. Apparently, the horse still lives in Mongolia, but he called it “beautiful.” Horses are a common gift given from dignitaries. Still, that’s a lot more responsibility than a dog, so we get it, Barron!

7. His first TV appearance was The Oprah Winfrey Show, at 2 months old

Barron has been in the spotlight since he was born. When he was just 2 months old, Gayle King interviewed Melania and Donald, introducing little Barron to the rest of the world. This was one of the last times we saw Donald and Melania gushing over each other, and Melania revealed that Donald spent every morning watching TV and reading newspapers with his baby boy. The new parents revealed that they chose the name Barron because it was a name Trump “always loved, but never really had the courage to use.”
